ArtTable Strategic Plan Summary
ArtTable Mission
ArtTable, Inc. is a national membership organization
for women leaders in the visual arts. Founded in 1981,
ArtTable has as its purpose to increase the effectiveness,
visibility, number, and diversity of women in this
field. Through programs and publications, the organization
is dedicated to supporting women in the arts at all
stages of their careers; to documenting outstanding
achievements by women past and present; to increasing
opportunities for women in the future, and in so doing,
to help enrich the nation's cultural life.
Goals and Objectives
ArtTable is
dedicated to supporting women leaders in the visual
arts at all stages of their careers.
- Retain membership and include as members all women
who are leaders in the visual arts and strive to
assure a racially, ethnically, geographically and
age diverse membership.
- Provide services to members that enhance their
interests, abilities, visibility, and careers.
- Continue to provide opportunities to bring members
together nationally.
- Participate in research and programs that identify
key factors for professional success for women in
the arts.
- Build Internet capabilities to provide opportunities
for easy open communication among members.
ArtTable is
dedicated to recognizing and promoting the achievements
of outstanding women in the visual arts.
- Conduct and promote oral histories of significant
women in the visual arts.
- Assess, strengthen,
and promote ArtTable’s
award programs at both the national and chapter
levels.
- Increase and improve dissemination of members’ activities
and achievements.
- Participate with other organizations on programs
and exhibitions that focus on the achievements
of women in the visual arts.
ArtTable is
dedicated to increasing opportunities for professional
women in the visual arts.
- Identify issues and factors that will create
a more supportive climate for women in the field.
- Plan
an education and advocacy program that will further
the role of women in the arts.
- Assist younger women of diverse backgrounds in
furthering their careers in the visual arts.
- Cooperate and collaborate with other organizations
that are involved in the arts and/or committed
to furthering the interests of women.
Administration
- Build a strong infrastructure that serves ArtTable
nationally.
- Ensure the long-term fiscal health
of ArtTable.
- Create policy to coordinate fundraising throughout
the organization.
- Clarify the roles and responsibilities of the board
of directors and committees and their relationship
to the professional staff.
- Strengthen ArtTable’s communications and
enhance its visibility
