Join ArtTable at the Fowler Museum for a walk through of two exhibitions with director Marla Burns and curator Lyssa Stapleton.

The visit will begin at 11:00 AM with a tour of The Box Project: Uncommon Threads led by curator Lyssa Stapleton. The exhibition features commissions by three dozen international artists including Richard Tuttle, Cynthia Schira, Helena Hernmarck, James Bassler, Gyöngy Laky, Gerhardt Knodel, Sherri Smith and many more. The commissioned works in this exhibition come from The Cotsen Collection.

At noon, the group will tour NKAME: A Retrospective of Cuban Printmaker Belkis Ayón with director Marla Burns. Nkame is the first solo museum exhibition in the United States dedicated to the works of Belkis Ayón (1967-1999) - the late Cuban visual artist who mined the founding myth of the Afro-Cuban fraternal society Abakuá to create an independent and powerful visual iconography.

Following the tours, ArtTable will host a gathering with light refreshments at the museum.

Thanks to Brenda Williams for organizing this event.
