Join ArtTable SoCal for
a studio visit with acclaimed multi-media artist Analia Saban.

The artist will lead a tour of her new studio and will discuss her work as well as recent and upcoming exhibitions.

Analia Saban’s sculptural paintings are the result of her interest in deconstructing what constitutes the painting process as well as her own works themselves. She describes her method of working as both artistic and scientific—an approach that was inspired by her former instructor, John Baldessari. She has become known for using elements of painting, sculpture, photography, printmaking and architecture, and incorporating techniques such as laser cutters, silicone molds and acrylic, and erosive techniques. Recently her practice has also included bending marble, weaving dried acrylic stings through linen, and peeling the emulsion from the surface of photographs.

Saban's recent exhibitions include two concurrent shows at Sprüth Magers (Los Angeles and Berlin) and a mid-career survey at the Blaffer Art Museum, University of Houston. Multiple pieces are currently on view at the Marciano Art Foundation in Los Angeles. Her work is included in the collections of the Centre Pompidou, Paris, France; Hammer Museum, Los Angeles; Marciano Art Foundation, Los Angeles; Museum of Contemporary Art, Los Angeles; and the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, among many others.

Light refreshments will be provided. Space is limited so please be sure to register early!

Thank you to Analia Saban for hosting and Stacie Martinez for organizing this event.
