Join ArtTable for a private before-hours tour of the 2017 Whitney Biennial, the first biennial to be held in the Whitney’s downtown home and the largest ever in terms of gallery space.
 
The biennial is cocurated by Christopher Y. Lew and Mia Locks. lt includes sixty-three participants, ranging from emerging to well-established artists to collectives, working in painting, sculpture, drawing, installation, film and video, photography, activism, performance, music, and video game design. Key themes addressed by this year’s selected artists are the formation of self and the individual’s place in a turbulent society.

A guided tour of the current exhibition, Giorgio de Chirico – Giulio Paolini / Giulio Paolini – Giorgio de Chirico with a welcome introduction by the Executive Director of CIMA, Heather Ewing. 

The visit will be led by CIMA Fellows and last approximately one hour. A complimentary Lavazza espresso is offered at the start.

Join us for our April edition of BreakfastTable at Urbana located in Hotel Palomar for an intimate conversation with Hilary-Morgan Watt, the Digital Engagement Manager for the Smithsonian’s Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden.

Hilary-Morgan Watt is the Digital Engagement Manager for the Smithsonian’s Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden. A transplant from the Pacific Northwest, Hilary-Morgan Watt moved to D.C. to complete her Masters in Museum Studies from the George Washington University. She completed her B.F.A. from Southern Oregon University, with an emphasis in oil painting and ceramic sculpture. She has eleven years of experience in museums and galleries and has enjoyed the range of working in communications, exhibition development, collections, and visitor services. She is passionate about making art accessible, inviting, relevant, and engaging for audiences both online and onsite.
