Join ArtTable for a triple value packed program that begins with a private exhibition tour by Lori Starr, Executive Director of the Contemporary Jewish Museum, who will take ArtTable members through the Jewish Folktales Retold exhibition, followed by a hands-on Progressive Sketchbooks workshop led by Pixar artist, Tia Kratter.

At 6:00 PM, mingle with your fellow ArtTable colleagues while making Progressive Sketchbooks with Tia
Kratter, a longtime artist at Pixar Animation Studios and Manager of Art + Film Education for the studio and author of "The Color of Pixar" just released by Chronicle Books. Ms. Kratter is a talented and dynamic teacher of art classes for all skill levels, and will lead our group through this interactive workshop. We will respond to themes -- by drawing, collaging, painting, writing, or whatever strikes you! We will pass our sketchbooks to our neighbors to respond creatively to subsequent themes, and so on. We expect lots of conversation, creativity, and camaraderie!

At the end of the workshop, the sketchbook you began will be returned to you to take home (note: all materials are included in the fee).

Light refreshments will be provided to enhance our making and networking experience.

Lori Starr is Executive Director of the Contemporary Jewish Museum. Ms. Starr has over thirty years of experience in museums and cultural institutions including Koffler Centre of the Arts, Skirball Cultural Center in Los Angeles, the J. Paul Getty Trust and J. Paul Getty Museum.

1993, and was Art Director on five subsequent Pixar films. Currently, Ms. Kratter is Manager of Art + Film for Pixar University, the internal educational branch of Pixar. Prior to Pixar, Ms. Kratter was a background painter at Disney Feature Animation, where she worked on a variety of acclaimed animated films.

Thank you to the
Contemporary Jewish Museum, Lori Starr and Tia Kratter for their participation, and to Maren Jones for organizing this program.
