Please join ArtTable for a special private visit to the Pace Editions workshop with master printer Justin Israels and Pace Prints Chelsea director Rachel Gladfelter who will give us a behind-the-scenes look at the printshop, and artist Daniel Heidkamp, who will talk about his current hand-made paper and printed collage monoprints.
Founded in 1968 by Dick Solomon, Pace Prints is a publisher of contemporary fine art prints with the print shop in Manhattan, a papermaking studio in Brooklyn, and two galleries at 32 East 57th Street and 521 West 26th Street. Pace Prints has collaborated with over 150 artists since its inception, including Chuck Close, Louise Nevelson, Pat Steir and Shahzia Sikander.
Daniel Heidkamp’s prolific collaboration with Pace Editions began in 2015 with a series of unique paper pulp paintings depicting wooded groves, seascapes, interiors and houses based on plein air paintings he made in Gloucester, MA. His most recent body of work is a series of pigmented, dyed, and printed paper collages depicting city and country landscapes in a pop-influenced color palette. Heidkamp was born in Wakefield, MA in 1980 and lives and works in Brooklyn. He graduated with a BFA in Painting from the School of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, and is represented by Half Gallery in New York City.
