Please join ArtTable for a day in Orange County that will include visits to three private collections in Laguna Beach and curator-led tours of exhibitions at two area museums.

10:00-11:00am:  Tour of the Buck Collection led by Dr. Stephen Barker, Dean of Claire Trevor School of the Arts at UC Irvine.  This collection presents a historical overview of California art from the early 1900s to the mid-1990s.  It includes significant work from the Light & Space movement, as well as seminal Chicano works, Bay Area painters, and ceramics.  Highlights include pieces by Richard Diebenkorn, Robert Irwin, Helen Lundeberg, Carlos Almaraz, Edward Keinholz, and many others.

11:30am-12:30pm: Visit the home of Sandra and Jerry LeWinter, whose collection includes work by Kim Dingle, Enrique Martinez Celaya, William Kentridge, Ori Gersht, Mary Corse, Anthony Caro, Akio Takamori, El Anatsui, and others.

1:00-2:30pm:  Lunch and tour the private collection of art consultant and ArtTable member Miriam Smith, in whose home are works by Ed Moses, Ed Ruscha, Billy Al Bengston, Pat Steir, and Jean Dubuffet, as well as tribal art and artifacts from Africa and Papua New Guinea.
3:00-4:00pm:  Tour of the 2017 California-Pacific Triennial at the Orange County Museum of Art, Newport Beach, curated by Senior Curator Cassandra Coblentz.   This survey of contemporary art features the work of 25 artists and/or collectives from in and around the Pacific Rim who variously explore the topic of architecture and the temporal precariousness of the built environment.  Among the participating artists are Leyla Cardenas, Ken Erlich, Yuki Kimura, Super Critical Mass and Haegue Yang.

4:30-5:30pm:  Happy hour and gallery walkthrough of Masculine<->Feminine at the Beall Center for Art + Technology at UC Irvine.  The exhibition focuses on the gendered body and how artists project gender and sexual identity.  It features work by 12 international contemporary artists, among them Micol Hebron, Julie Heffernan, Robert Heinecken, Maria Lassnig, Lynn Hershman Leeson and Alexis Smith.

Carpooling to and from Los Angeles and around Orange County will be arranged for interested parties.  Please contact Roni Feinstein if you'd like to carpool either as a driver or passenger: ronifeinstein@gmail.com.
