2018 Career Development Roundtable


 
ArtTable New York's 2018 Career Development Roundtable for Emerging Professionals, one of our longest standing and most impactful career programs for rising professionals in the visual arts, welcomed more than 200 emerging professionals for career advice and inspiration to this signature program held at the Fashion Institute of Technology, New York on Friday, November 2, 2018.. Through open and engaged conversations around tables, emerging young professionals had the opportunity to meet ArtTable members, and others, who are experts in their fields for candid dicussions about different career paths and opportunities. 

Career topics explored this year included: appraiser | art advisor | art fairs | art publishing | auction houses and online art businesses | collection management | curator and art historian | development and fundraising | gallerist and dealer | museum and nonprofit directors | public programing and museum education | public relations, marketing and social media.  


This program was organized by ArtTable in collaboration with the Master's Program in Art Market Studies at FIT, with additional sponsorship provided by the Association of Professional Art Advisors (APAA). and the following programs: Bard Graduate Center; Baruch College; Christie’s Education; Guggenheim Museum; Hunter College; International Studio & Curatorial Program (ISCP); New York University; Pratt Institute; Sotheby’s Institute of Art; St. John’s University; School of Visual Arts; Teachers College, Columbia University.
  

Since 2005, ArtTable has organized annual roundtables programs in New York City, Washington, DC, Miami and Philadelphia
for graduate students in art history, museum studies, museum education, art business and arts administration programs.  The roundtables are an opportunity for facilitators and students alike to network and build relationships with peers and mentors.
