Please join Art Table and Christie’s during Asian Art Week for a Specialist-led tour of highlights from the upcoming Chinese Works of Art and Rockefeller Collection auctions.

Works on view will include Song Ceramics from an important Japanese private collection and top examples of classical Chinese Furniture. Also on view will be highlights from the David and Peggy Rockefeller collection of Asian Art and other categories of work. The Tour will be led by specialists in the Chinese Works of Art Department, Olivia Hamilton and Vicki Paloympis.  

Olivia Hamilton
Specialist, Chinese Works of Art

Olivia joined Christie’s in 2016 from Bonham’s, where she began her career as a Chinese Works of Art specialist in London in 2011. Prior to working in the auction world, she earned a Postgraduate Diploma in Asian Art with distinction from the School of Oriental and African Studies at the University of London. Olivia received her Bachelor’s degree in Classics at the University of Oxford, following which she studied Mandarin in Beijing. She also spent over three years in the Hong Kong office of a British law firm, qualifying as a lawyer in 2008 and specializing in structured finance and derivatives.

Emma Winder
Head of Sale Management, Asian Art

Emma joined in Christie’s in 2009 as an intern in the African and Oceanic Art Dept. From there she moved to the Japanese and Korean Art department as an administrator, and since has been working with all Asian Art categories (Asian Contemporary, Chinese Works of Art, Chinese Paintings, Japanese and Korean Art) as a Business Manager and now as the Head of Sale Management. Emma received her undergraduate degree from UCLA in World Art and Cultures, minoring in Museum Studies and African studies. She then attended graduate school at NYU receiving a Master’s degree in Arts Administration.

Vicki Paloympis
Associate Specialist, Chinese Works of Art

Vicki Paloympis has worked in the Chinese Works of Art department at Christie’s for 8 years. Since joining Christie’s, she has worked on several record-breaking sales held at Christie’s, including The Collection of Robert Hatfield Ellsworth in 2015 and Important Chinese Art from the Fujita Museum in March 2017, which was the most successful auction of Asian art to date and realized a staggering $262,839,500. Prior to joining Christie’s, she worked for the ART ASIA fair as the Communications and Development Coordinator. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Chinese Art from The Gallatin School of Individualized Study at New York University and a Graduate Certificate in Chinese Studies from The Johns Hopkins-Nanjing University Center for Chinese and American Studies, in Nanjing, China. Prior to studying in Nanjing, she lived in Beijing for several years, where she worked and studied Mandarin Chinese. She is proficient in both Mandarin Chinese and modern Greek.
