As part of our annual benefit ceremony week celebrations, join ArtTable for a curatorial walk through of Trisha Donnelly’s new work at The Shed with Adeze Wilford, curatorial assistant, The Shed.

About Adeze Wilford
Adeze Wilford is the curatorial assistant at The Shed. She was an inaugural joint curatorial fellow at The Studio Museum in Harlem and the Museum of Modern Art. In 2017 she curated Excerpt addressing artists who used text to challenge dominant historical narratives at the Studio Museum and Black Intimacy a film series at MoMA exploring black love and intimate relationships through the lens of politics. Other curatorial projects include Harlem Postcards F/W 2016/2017 and Color in Shadows the 2016 Expanding The Walls exhibition at Studio Museum. Prior to this Adeze was the Public Programs and Community Engagement assistant at the Studio Museum. She graduated from Northwestern University with a BA in Art History and African-American Studies.

About The Shed
Opening April 5, The Shed commissions original works of art, across all disciplines, for all audiences.

“We bring together established and emerging artists in fields ranging from hip hop to classical music, painting to digital media, theater to literature, and sculpture to dance. Our home, The Bloomberg Building, is an unprecedented movable structure that adapts to support ambition and invention in all creative fields.

By minimizing social and economic barriers to entry we’ll make a warm, welcoming space for innovation and unique artistic experiences. By offering access and insight into the creative process, we’ll forge deep bonds between our artists and our audiences. Driven by our belief that access to art is a right, and not a privilege, we’ll present exciting, engaging experiences for our communities and our time.”

Many thanks to Adeze Wilford for organizing this program.
