Members and Guests I Breakfast is Dutch Treat

Join ArtTable DC for an informal conversation with Kelly Crow, the art market reporter for the Wall Street Journal.

Since 2006, Kelly has been the voice of the WSJ’s art beat which analyzes the buying trends in the art market. Her reporting focuses on the sales at auction houses such Sotheby’s, Christies and Phillips. Some of her articles include the $450M da Vinci and its unusual provenance, the record setting auction for the Rockefeller Estate in 2018, the Hobby Lobby Bible Museum and its controversial collection and the Japanese trophy hunter Yusaku Maezawa.

Before joining the Journal in 2005, she wrote for the New York Times, based at the city desk where she helped cover city government, neighborhoods and the Sept. 11 terrorist attack. She also helped Pulitzer-Prize winner James B. Stewart report DisneyWar, a 2005 nonfiction narrative about the Walt Disney Company during Michael Eisner’s final years as CEO of the company.

She earned her master’s degree from Columbia University’s Graduate School of Journalism in 2000. Ms. Crow started her career in 1995 at The Edmond Evening Sun in her hometown of Edmond, Oklahoma. For most of her career, Kelly was based in New York until 2014 when she relocated to Frederick, Maryland.
