Welcome back to an exciting new season of ArtTable SoCal programming! Please gather with us for lively conversation and refreshments as we introduce new members and greet one another after the summer hiatus. We will review the fall schedule, which is replete with enthralling programs and events, and engage in a discussion about various upcoming opportunities and plans.

During our evening at LACE, Sarah Russin, Executive Director of Los Angeles Contemporary Exhibitions and fellow SoCal ArtTable member, will speak to us about the current exhibition, “The Mojave Project.” Consisting of an experimental transmedia documentary and curatorial initiative by Kim Stringfellow, an artist, educator, and writer based in Joshua Tree, The Mojave Project explores the physical, geological and cultural landscape of the Mojave Desert. Viewing this exhibition together will establish a foundation for ArtTable SoCal’s day trip in spring 2019 to visit “Desert X,” the second iteration of the acclaimed exhibition of site-specific artworks and installation projects by renowned international contemporary artists, all situated in the California desert.

Also on view is The Archival Impulse: 40 Years at LACE. Marking four decades of pioneering work in the arts, this Project Room installation features an astounding array of documents from the LACE archives, which have been acquired by the Getty Research Institute.

Please join us in our celebration of the women of ArtTable, the new season, and the vitality of LACE!

Thank you Sarah Russin and Susan Power, Co-Chair SoCal ArtTable.
