SUMMARY:Virtual | Fine Art in Healthcare with Melissa Dallal\, Ellen Rudolph\, Cade Tompkins\, Susana Bautista\, and Jane Borthwick
DESCRIPTION:3 pm PDT / 4 pm MDT / 5 pm CDT / 6 pm EDT\n\n\n\nMajor medical institutions take art seriously and recognize its importance in healthcare settings. Creating sophisticated cultural spaces in these environments is its own professional discipline—parallel to how art advisors collaborate with art and design partners in hospitality and corporate settings\, but with its own purpose\, parameters\, and vision. Join us for a fascinating virtual panel discussion featuring Melissa Dallal\, Project Manager\, Interior Design at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center; Ellen Rudolph\, in-house Curator and Senior Director\, Cleveland Clinic Art Collection; Susana Smith Bautista\, Associate Vice President and Chief Curator\, AltaMed Art Collection; and curator and gallerist Cade Tompkins of Cade Tompkins Projects. The conversation will be moderated by art advisor and collection strategist—and former ArtTable Board President—Jane Borthwick. We’ll look at themes including how art advisors in this field access art and artists\, and how they can identify artists from diverse and adjacent community backgrounds who can connect with the patient\, staff\, and visitor populations at specific locations. Art advisors also identify and present emergent talent whose work will appreciate in value and that is affordable for healthcare institutions. We will hear about evolving and innovative collaborative models where art advisors are actively incorporating the input of stakeholders including healthcare professionals\, patients\, and families; ultimately serving the purpose of healing and inspiration in these communities while creating a built-in stewardship of the collection. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAdmission: \n\n\n\n\nComplimentary with optional donation\n\n\n\n\nNot a member? Join today! \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nAfter registration\, you will receive an email containing the Zoom link.
