SUMMARY:ArtTable Tours | Lisbon and Porto
DESCRIPTION:Explore the vibrant art scenes of Lisbon and Porto\, two cities where tradition meets contemporary innovation. This carefully curated tour offers an insider’s view into the art\, culture\, and architecture of Portugal\, with exclusive visits to museums\, galleries\, and private collections\, all while enjoying the country’s rich culinary traditions and wine culture. Join us for an unforgettable exploration of these cultural gems! \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nHighlights of the Itinerary\n\n\n\nLisbon \n\n\n\nOur journey begins in Lisbon\, a city that effortlessly blends old-world charm with modern cultural influence. Over three days\, we’ll visit the iconic Museu Nacional de Azulejo\, a remarkable museum housed in the former Convento Madre de Deus\, and the Museu Calouste Gulbenkian\, which is home to the exceptional private art collection of Calouste Gulbenkian\, a wealthy Armenian collector known for his unerring eye and wide-ranging taste. We’ll also tour the Museu de Arte\, Arquitetura e Tecnologia and Museu de Arte Contemporânea\, experiencing the city’s dynamic contemporary art scene. Each day will offer time to savor Lisbon’s celebrated cuisine in local restaurants and cafés\, and we will stay at the Lapa Palace\, built in the 18th century and later renovated into a luxury hotel that is centrally located and offers unparalleled views of the city’s historic quarter. \n\n\n\nPorto \n\n\n\nNext\, we travel to Porto\, Portugal’s second-largest city\, renowned for its art and wine culture. We will visit the Fundação de Serralves\, a prominent cultural institution in Porto whose mission is to promote contemporary art and its associated disciplines. We’ll enjoy a river cruise along the Douro River\, offering a unique view of the picturesque valley and its famed vineyards. We will also visit the Museu Nacional de Soares dos Reis\, Portugal’s first designated national museum\, founded in 1833 to showcase works of art from dissolved monasteries and convents\, including a valuable collection of paintings\, glass\, ceramics\, and jewelry. We conclude our tour with a tasting and farewell dinner at the historic Graham’s Port Lodge\, where we’ll explore its impressive collection of port wine barrels and enjoy a selection of port tastings paired with local cuisine. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nExplore the full itinerary here!\n\n\n\nArtsAbroad \n\n\n\nThe ArtTable tour to Lisbon and Porto will be managed by ArtsAbroad\, a specialist travel company with extensive experience in the visual and performing arts sectors. SUMMARY:New York\, NY | Artist Talk and Studio Visit with Francine Tint
DESCRIPTION:Join ArtTable on June 16th for a studio visit with Francine Tint! \n\n\n\nFrancine Tint’s practice is rooted in the exploration of color as a means of capturing and embodying light. Tint’s approach emerged within painterly abstraction\, bridging Color Field influences with the dynamic gestures of Abstract Expressionism. While grounded in this tradition\, she continually expands its boundaries\, exploring new forms of expression that challenge conventional abstract frameworks. David Ebony observes that Tint rejects rigid formalism in favor of an intuitive method\, balancing energetic movement with moments of stillness. This interplay creates what he describes as a ‘Zen feeling’—a sense of clarity and resolution within complex visual structures. Over five decades\, Tint has remained committed to discovery and reinvention. While sharing affinities with peers such as Larry Poons\, her synthesis of gesture and color distinguishes her vision. Her work is held in the permanent collections of 30 museums\, including the Neuberger Museum of Art\, the El Paso Museum of Art\, and the Chazen Museum of Art. Tint’s paintings are exhibited across the United States and Europe\, further solidifying her influence in the field of contemporary abstraction. \n\n\n\nProgram Admission: \n\n\n\n\nArtTable Members – $15\n\n\n\nArtTable Member Guest – $20\n\n\n\n\nNot a member?
