DESCRIPTION:Join ArtTable for a Curator-Led Tour at the Bass Museum of Art. Jasa McKenzie will lead tours of Yuko Mohri: Unviolated Imperfection and Amalia Pica: Lecturas Posibles. \n\n\n\nUnviolated Imperfection is Tokyo-based artist Yuko Mohri’s first solo exhibition in a US museum\, on view September 17\, 2026 through May 30\, 2027. The exhibition spans three galleries\, each highlighting three interconnected ideas that embody her exploration of imperfect compositions. Through nature and technology in Decomposition\, improvisation and kinetics in Moré Moré (Leaky)\, and chance and sound in Piano Solo\, the installations reveal the invisible systems that connect people\, objects\, and environments. \n\n\n\nEveryone is invited into Amalia Pica’s world. Emphasizing imagination\, language\, and play as fundamental tools for human connection\, Pica constructs environments that encourage participants to redraw\, rewrite\, and recontextualize their surroundings. Lecturas Posibles takes the form of an almost two-dimensional library—an immersive\, interactive installation in which every surface is transformed into a site of inscription and image. Walls\, furniture\, and familiar objects are rendered in chalkboard paint and traced with white\, hand-drawn outlines\, creating a flattened\, graphic environment that oscillates between object and image\, presence and representation. \n\n\n\nAssociate Curator Jasa McKenzie (she/her) is a queer curator whose practice is informed by questions of identity\, human connection\, and expansive modes of imagination. Prior to The Bass\, she led creative programming for The Great Northern\, a multidisciplinary festival in Minneapolis dedicated to climate change solutions. \n\n\n\nLearn more about accessibility at the museum here.
