Photo Credit: Pierre Le Hors\n\n\n\nArtTable is honored to present a conversation between Joan Jonas and Laura Hoptman\, Executive Director of The Drawing Center\, exploring the artist’s exhibition Joan Jonas: Animal\, Vegetable\, Mineral. Curated by Hoptman\, The Drawing Center’s exhibition is the first major retrospective to focus on Jonas’ substantial body of works on paper. Jonas and Hoptman will discuss the centrality of drawing to the artist’s practice\, documenting her process and tying together her work in sculpture\, performance\, and recorded media. The works on view in Animal\, Vegetable\, Mineral focus on the natural world\, a lifelong source of inspiration for Jonas. This is a rare opportunity to witness a legendary figure in postwar and contemporary art interpret the evolution of her practice through over 300 of her drawings. \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nFollowing this 40-minute conversation\, attendees will be able to explore the exhibition on their own.
