SUMMARY:New York\, NY | Curator-Led Tour of "Rosalyn Drexler: My Life Has a Life of Its Own" with Fiona Laugharn
DESCRIPTION:To inaugurate its new space at 25 Greene Street in SoHo\, Garth Greenan Gallery is pleased to present Rosalyn Drexler: My Life Has a Life of Its Own\, a major exhibition dedicated to the Bronx-born artist. Curated by Fiona Laugharn\, the presentation is on view from September 9 through October 24\, 2026. The show is the fifth presentation of Drexler’s work with the gallery\, and her first exhibition since her death last year at the age of 98. \n\n\n\nThe exhibition offers a detailed overview of Drexler’s landmark Pop work of the 1960s. Featuring private and institutional loans\, the show reunites several important works and series from this generative decade. To augment these iconic paintings\, the show also presents a selection of never-before-seen drawings\, objects\, source imagery\, and journals. These materials—uncovered through newly conducted archival research—provide\, for the first time\, a full picture of Drexler’s creative activities\, tracing the depth and complexity of her sui generis approach to the appropriated image. \n\n\n\nFiona Laugharn is an independent curator\, writer\, artist legacy consultant\, and USPAP-compliant appraiser with fourteen years of experience across museums\, galleries\, auction houses\, artist estates\, and foundations. Her work focuses on American modern\, postwar\, and contemporary art\, with particular interests in archives\, provenance\, and the ways research can reshape our understanding of an artist’s life and work. \n\n\n\nFor questions about access or to request accommodations please contact us at programs@arttable.org. \n\n\n\nProgram Admission: \n\n\n\n\nArtTable Members – $15\n\n\n\nArtTable Member Guest – $20\n\n\n\nGeneral Admission – $25\n\n\n\n\nNot a member? ASOM Collection © 2026 Pollock-Krasner Foundation / Artists Rights Society (ARS)\, New York\n\n\n\n\n\nJoin ArtTable for a Curator-Led Tour of Krasner and Pollock: Past Continuous with Brinda Kumar before the museum opens to the public. \n\n\n\nDrawing its subtitle\, Past Continuous\, from a 1976 painting by Krasner\, the exhibition traces parallel lives and practices—forged first by lived experience\, then shadowed by memory. Krasner\, born in Brooklyn to Jewish immigrant parents from what is now Ukraine\, and Pollock\, raised in Los Angeles and the American West\, brought specific geographies and inheritances into a shared artistic context. Their early paths traced distinct strands of American modernism that would ultimately converge in the rupture known as Abstract Expressionism\, a movement that valued the translation of inner feelings into dramatic visual action. In the wake of World War II\, artists asked why art mattered and what it could be. For Pollock\, his breakthrough was the “drip” technique\, a radical mode of painting that flourished in a condensed but prolific period. Krasner’s varied practice was typified by ceaseless explorations of abstraction\, often cued by her abiding interest in the possibilities of nature and color. \n\n\n\nLearn more about accessibility at the museum here. SUMMARY:New York\, NY | Curator-Led Tour of "Goddesses in the Machine: Fashion in American Silent Film" with Emma Cormack
DESCRIPTION:Famous Players-Lasky costume department on Vine Street in Hollywood\, 1918. Photograph. Marc Wanamaker/Bison Archives.\n\n\n\n\n\nWhen films were silent\, fashion spoke volumes. Goddesses in the Machine reveals the untold story of costume and style in early Hollywood\, from actors wearing their own clothes to the birth of the movie costume designer. The first major exhibition to explore fashion in American silent film\, Goddesses in the Machine shows how silent films transformed fashion from personal expression into powerful storytelling\, creating the blueprint for modern movie glamour. Bringing together a selection of rare surviving objects from the advent of cinema\, the exhibition highlights the behind-the-scenes work of famous designers such as Travis Banton\, Henri Bendel\, Clare West\, and Lucile\, Lady Duff-Gordon\, as well as lesser-known names including Madame Frances\, I. Miller\, Natacha Rambova\, and Lilian St. Cyr. A vibrant display of ensembles and accessories at the Bard Graduate Center Gallery will be enriched by accompanying film clips and works on paper including photographs\, posters\, film stills\, and costume design sketches. \n\n\n\nEmma Cormack (BGC MA 2018) is associate curator for exhibitions and Study Collection curator at Bard Graduate Center. With a background in decorative arts\, design history\, and material culture\, her research specialties include the history of fashion and textiles with a particular interest in department stores\, consumer culture\, and print advertising in late nineteenth- and early twentieth-century France and the United States. At BGC\, she was the cocurator of Threads of Power: Lace from the Textilmuseum St. Gallen (2022–23) and coeditor of the accompanying publication; assistant curator of French Fashion\, Women\, and the First World War (2019–20); and curatorial and editorial assistant for Eileen Gray (2020). SUMMARY:New York\, NY | Curator-Led Tour of "Locating Girlhood: Place and Identity in Early American “Schoolgirl” Art" with Emelie Gevalt\, PhD
DESCRIPTION:Sampler c.1789\, Ruthy Rogers.\n\n\n\n\n\nJoin ArtTable for a Curator-Led Tour of “Locating Girlhood: Place and Identity in Early American “Schoolgirl” Art with Emelie Gevalt\, PhD. \n\n\n\nFeaturing spectacular examples of needlework and other ornamental arts made by American girls in the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries\, Locating Girlhood: Place and Identity in Early American “Schoolgirl” Art sheds new light on a rich but understudied genre\, offering one of the most significant presentations on the subject in recent memory. This major loan exhibition brings together approximately 100 exceptional objects from over 35 museums and private collections nationwide\, uniting celebrated masterpieces with remarkable lesser-known gems rarely seen by the public. \n\n\n\nUnlike many earlier exhibitions\, Locating Girlhood explores girlhood artworks from an explicitly art historical perspective\, reframing these objects through the lens of place. Though the story of landscape art in the United States has traditionally centered on male academic painters\, American girls and young women were laboring over a variety of landscape scenes long before the Hudson River School. From the eighteenth century onwards\, representations of landscape were a common visual thread in samplers\, needlework pictures\, watercolors\, and other artworks commonly united under the umbrella term “schoolgirl art\,” extending from country scenes and cityscapes to maps and other cartographic compositions. By considering these works as deeply resonant expressions of place\, the exhibition expands the story of the American landscape and situates women at its heart. \n\n\n\nEmelie Gevalt\, PhD\, is the Deborah Davenport and Stewart Stender Deputy Director & Chief Curatorial and Program Officer. \n\n\n\nLearn more about accessibility at the museum here. They succeeded. The result was a groundbreaking cultural moment that has become vital to the New York art market and beyond. While much has changed over the years\, our ingenuity and ambition have not. The Armory Show is a galvanizing force in the art world and essential to New York’s cultural landscape. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThis program is generously sponsored by Private Client Select. \n\n\n\n\n\n\nArtTable’s programs are made possible by the New York State Council on the Arts with the support of the Office of the Governor and the New York State Legislature. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThis program is supported\, in part\, by public funds from the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs in partnership with the City Council.

SUMMARY:Brooklyn\, NY | Studio Visit with Carole Feuerman
DESCRIPTION:Join ArtTable for a studio visit with Carole Feuerman! We will begin this program at Carole’s studio in East Williamsburg\, and will then walk as a group to her second studio a few blocks away. Stairs are required to enter the studio\, please let us know if you will need access to an elevator. \n\n\n\nCarole Feuerman (b. 1945\, Hartford\, Connecticut) is a pioneering figure in superrealist sculpture whose work has helped redefine contemporary figuration over the past five decades. Internationally recognized for her monumentally scaled and technically exacting depictions of the human form\, Feuerman is best known for iconic works such as Innertube\, The Golden Mean\, and her celebrated swimmer series. Her sculptures merge extraordinary surface realism with psychological stillness and emotional resonance\, transforming the body into a vehicle for themes of resilience\, vulnerability\, endurance\, and renewal. \n\n\n\nBeginning her career in the 1960s as a painter and illustrator—creating work for major publications\, album covers\, and commercial commissions—Feuerman transitioned into sculpture in the 1970s through fragmented wall works and experimental figurative pieces. By the 1990s\, she had expanded into monumental resin\, bronze\, and stainless steel sculptures that established her as one of the leading voices in superrealism. In recent years\, her work has evolved further through fragmented figures inscribed with mythological tattoo imagery\, exploring identity\, power\, and the body as a layered cultural surface. \n\n\n\nFeuerman’s work has been exhibited internationally in museums\, biennials\, and public spaces\, including major presentations in New York\, Rome\, Venice\, Naples\, Geneva\, and Baku. Her sculptures are held in numerous museum\, private\, and public collections worldwide. In 2011\, she founded the Feuerman Sculpture Foundation to support artists through exhibitions\, education\, residencies\, and public art initiatives. Her most recent honor includes the 2026 Lifetime Achievement Award from the International Sculpture Center\, recognizing her enduring contributions to contemporary sculpture and the evolution of figurative art. \n\n\n\n\n\nFor questions about access or to request accommodations please contact us at programs@arttable.org. \n\n\n\nProgram Admission: \n\n\n\n\nArtTable Members – $35\n\n\n\nArtTable Member Guest – $45\n\n\n\nGeneral Admission – $55\n\n\n\n\nNot a member? SUMMARY:New York\, NY | Curator-Led Tour of "Jessica Lichtenstein: Rewilding" with Elissa Auther
DESCRIPTION:Jessica Lichtenstein\, Secret Garden (detail)\, 2026.\n\n\n\n\n\nJoin ArtTable for a Curator-Led Tour of Jessica Lichtenstein: Rewilding with Elissa Auther. \n\n\n\nThe exhibition will transform the Museum’s third-floor gallery into a lush\, overgrown terrain\, where thousands of digitally rendered female nudes coalesce into forests\, ruins\, and flowering canopies. A multidisciplinary artist whose practice spans large-scale installation\, painting\, sculpture\, and video\, Lichtenstein’s densely layered\, technicolor landscapes are erotically charged\, feminist reimaginings of nature and the female form.  \n\n\n\nThe exhibition borrows its title from a concept in conservation ecology known as “rewilding.” In practice\, “rewilding” restores natural processes and wilderness areas by withdrawing human intervention and trusting ecosystems to regenerate on their own terms. For Lichtenstein\, rewilding serves as a governing metaphor for liberty and release. Merging opulent materials with technological precision\, Lichtenstein reclaims the female body from art history’s erotic conventions and situates it within a speculative landscape shaped by autonomy and collectivity\, unfettered by patriarchy or even the presence of the male figure. \n\n\n\nElissa Auther is the Deputy Director of Curatorial Affairs and William and Mildred Lasdon Chief Curator at MAD. \n\n\n\nLearn more about accessibility at the museum here. SUMMARY:New York\, NY | MeetAT at CHART
DESCRIPTION:Installation view\, Whitney Oldenburg: Ticket to Paradise (November 3\, 2023 – January 6\, 2024)\, CHART\, New York.\n\n\n\nYou’re invited to a New York MeetAT networking event on May 12\, graciously hosted by CHART. Join us for an evening of light refreshments and engaging conversations with fellow ArtTable members and new connections. \n\n\n\nAbout CHART: CHART is a contemporary art gallery dedicated to rigorous\, conceptually grounded practices with an emphasis on material exploration and technical craft. Founded in 2019 by Clara Ha\, formerly a partner at Paul Kasmin Gallery\, CHART presents an intergenerational selection of artists with women in the majority and a commitment to long-term collaboration. Across painting\, sculpture\, photography\, and installation\, the gallery supports work that engages cultural memory\, embodied experience\, and transformation through material inquiry. \n\n\n\nAt CHART:Whitney Oldenburg: hardening the braces will be on view at CHART from April 17 through May 30\, 2026. In this exhibition\, made up of large charcoal drawings and sculptures\, Oldenburg reflects on how people prepare for an uncertain future\, examining the accumulation of survival goods and preparedness materials as both a psychological response to instability and a mirror of broader systems of consumption. \n\n\n\nRead more about the exhibition here. \n\n\n\nAre you considering joining ArtTable and want to know more about who we are and what we do? This is a great opportunity for potential members to get to know us! \n\n\n\nAdmission: \n\n\n\n\nFREE to ArtTable Members and their guests\n\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nNot a member? Join today! \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nArtTable’s programs are made possible by the New York State Council on the Arts with the support of the Office of the Governor and the New York State Legislature. \n\n\n\n\n\nThis program is supported\, in part\, by public funds from the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs in partnership with the City Council.
