DESCRIPTION:Join ArtTable in Washington\, DC for tours at the Qatar America Institute for Culture and the Middle East Institute with curator Laila Abdul-Hadi Jadallah. We will learn about the QAIC’s new arts initiatives and Perfumery Museum\, and tour the exhibition More Than Your Eyes Can See at the MEI. We’ll also have time to chat directly with Jadallah and learn more about her work as a female curator who focuses on narratives of MENA/SWANA (Midde Eastern North African / Southwest Asian and North African) people\, who are underrepresented in the arts. \n\n\n\nAdmission: \n\n\n\nArtTable Members – $10Member Guests/Non-Members – $15\n\n\n\nNot a member? Getting There We will meet at the Qatar America Institute for Culture (QAIC)\, located at 1319 18th Street NW\, Washington\, DC\, 20036 (directly southeast of Dupont Circle). QAIC is a short walk away from the Dupont Circle Metro Station (Red Line) and the N6\, L2 and 42 bus lines. There is also garage and 2 hour street parking available. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAbout Laila Abdul-Hadi Jadallah\nLaila Abdul-Hadi Jadallah is a seasoned arts administrator\, writer and exhibition producer\, and curator with more than 15 years of experience. She is the Director of Programs at the Qatar America Institute for Culture (QAIC)\, where she oversees the overall strategic and executive direction of QAIC programs and exhibitions. Prior to joining QAIC\, she was the inaugural Managing Director of Washington Studio School and has previously held senior-level positions at the Fabric Workshop and Museum\, Art Fraud Insights\, and International Arts and Artists\, where she worked with numerous arts and cultural partners to lead communications\, program development and manage more than 20 major exhibitions. DESCRIPTION:Join ArtTable in Washington\, DC for a BreakfastTable program with Jess Randolph\, Associate Creative Director of The Anacostia Arts Center. She will be discussing her professional experience in creative and cultural consulting and the mission of the Anacostia Arts Center to create a sustainable economic and cultural community in Historic Anacostia. \n\n\n\nJess Randolph is a creative\, entrepreneur\, daughter\, and friend. Her professional experience is wide — centering her love of the arts\, culture\, and community. She’s served as a creative and cultural consultant for major advertising firms. She’s also worked as scriptwriter/producer for filmmakers in the political space. Her creative side comes from her mother and her dedication to the DC Jazz scene. It is through those experiences that she sees her biggest undertaking yet — The Anacostia Arts Center. Jess proudly serves as the Associate Creative Director of the Anacostia Arts Center. Her role encompasses creative partnership development\, art curation\, and dreaming up opportunities for cultural celebration. \n\n\n\nThis program is free and open to ArtTable members only.
