DESCRIPTION:Join ArtTable at the Wallach Art Gallery for a Curator-Led Tour of Lotty Rosenfeld: Disobedient Spaces with Julia Bryan-Wilson! \n\n\n\nOne of the most important feminist artists of the 20th century\, and one of the best-known within Latin America\, Lotty Rosenfeld (1943–2020) is renowned for her extensive practice with printmaking\, video\, and site-specific installation. Through these media\, Rosenfeld crafted political gestures that contested the militarization of everyday life and revealed the invisible code at the heart of the world’s market-based economies. A Chilean artist\, she also worked collaboratively with Colectivo Acciones de Arte (CADA) during the Pinochet dictatorship of 1973-1990. \n\n\n\nJulia Bryan-Wilson is Professor of Contemporary Art and LGBTQ+ Studies and core faculty in Columbia’s Institute for the Study of Sexuality and Gender. Bryan-Wilson is Curator-at-Large at the Museu de Arte de São Paulo (MASP)\, where she co-organized the major group exhibitions Women’s Histories\, Histories of Dance\, and Queer Histories. Join us for an evening of light refreshments and engaging conversations with fellow ArtTable members and new connections. \n\n\n\nAbout Baert Gallery:Baert Gallery\, founded in 2016 by Christian Baert\, maintains a distinct focus on bridging the legacies and artistic sensibilities of Europe and Los Angeles. Working with a roster of emerging artists\, the gallery aims to provide a platform for complex\, intellectually rigorous\, and formally challenging practices at its space in Downtown Los Angeles. The gallery is committed to providing studio and production support to its artists in order to foster their innovative ideas and creativity. In order to reach a wider audience\, Baert Gallery also supports artist publications and regular live performances by multidisciplinary artists in the gallery space. In 2020\, the gallery moved to its current location in the lower Arts District in Downtown Los Angeles. The 1\,500 sq-ft (140 sq-m) exhibition space\, located in a historic warehouse\, provides an ideal backdrop to present artworks across media\, including installation\, sculpture\, painting\, video\, and performance. \n\n\n\nAbout the ArtistCheung Tsz Hin’s compositions explore the mixed emotions that arise from the artist’s memories and associations with people and events throughout his lifetime. Everyday objects\, fleeting scenes\, and encounters provide spaces to observe the ever-changing landscape of the mind. Through painting\, Cheung’s emotional starting points undergo transformations\, reconstructions\, and even inversions until the layers of meaning abstract themselves both conceptually and visually. Painting becomes an act of digestion and reflection. \n\n\n\nCheung Tsz Hin (b.1987\, Hong Kong) obtained his Bachelor of Integrated BBA (minor in Fine Arts) from the Chinese University of Hong Kong in 2010\, and a Master of Fine Arts in Taiwan in 2014. Cheung has taken part in an artist in residency programme held by Listhus SES in Iceland in 2018. DESCRIPTION:Join ArtTable for a curator-led tour of Amy Sherald: American Sublime at the Baltimore Museum of Art!  \n\n\n\nThe exhibition tells the story of Sherald’s vision and practice through approximately 40 paintings created from 2007 to the present—from her early\, rarely seen works to her iconic\, larger-than-life portraits of Black Americans in everyday moments. \n\n\n\nAmerican Sublime in Baltimore is more than an exhibition—it’s an occasion of civic pride and cultural affirmation. Sherald graduated from the Maryland Institute College of Art\, studying under the famed painter Grace Hartigan\, and worked in Baltimore during her formative years. \n\n\n\nAsma Naeem (she/her) was appointed the Dorothy Wagner Wallis Director at the Baltimore Museum of Art (BMA) in January 2023. She is the eleventh director of the 110-year-old museum and also the first person of color and the first person raised in Baltimore to lead the organization. \n\n\n\nNaeem is widely recognized for her advocacy of women and underrecognized artists\, for her scholarship in contemporary and American art\, and for her vision and work in collections diversification. She had previously served as the BMA’s Interim Co-Director since June 2022\, and as the Museum’s Eddie C. and C. Sylvia Brown Chief Curator since 2018\, organizing exhibitions on the work of such artists as Candice Breitz\, Isaac Julien\, Salman Toor\, and Valerie Maynard. Her most recent exhibition\, The Culture: Hip Hop and Contemporary Art in the 21st Century\, still on tour\, explored the political\, cultural\, and aesthetic attributes that have made hip hop a global phenomenon and established it as the artistic canon of our time. \n\n\n\nProgram Admission: \n\n\n\n\nGeneral Admission – $35\n\n\n\nArtTable Members – $25\n\n\n\nArtTable Member Guests – $30\n\n\n\n\nNot a member? SUMMARY:Dallas\, TX | After Hours Collections Storage Tour & Discussion with Anne Lenhart at the Meadows Museum
DESCRIPTION:We are excited to present an after hours collection storage tour and discussion at the Meadows Museum! Attendees will see and learn about the collections at the Meadow’s Museum\, as well as hear how the Museum functions as a small University Art Museum that is funded by a foundation. \n\n\n\nThe core of the Meadows Museum’s collection was assembled by its founder\, Algur H. Meadows. Mr. Meadows developed an interest in art over the course of several visits to Spain in the 1950s\, when he spent long afternoons at the great Museo Nacional del Prado in Madrid. Mr. Meadows subsequently began to collect Spanish art and in 1962\, after the passing of his wife\, Virginia\, he donated his original acquisitions as well as funds for a museum to house them at Southern Methodist University. Until his death in 1978\, Mr. Meadows\, with the careful guidance of founding director William B. Jordan\, actively promoted the development of the Spanish art collection\, which has grown to be one of the finest outside Spain. Ranging from early Renaissance examples to modern works by Pablo Picasso\, Joan Miró\, and Juan Gris\, the majority of works of art in the collection were created during the Spanish Golden Age by Baroque artists such as Diego Velázquez\, Bartolomé Esteban Murillo\, and Jusepe de Ribera \n\n\n\nThis program will be lead by Anne Lenhart\, Director of Collections and Exhibitions at the Meadows Museum. \n\n\n\nParking is available on site.  \n\n\n\n\n\nProgram Admission: \n\n\n\n\nGeneral Admission – $25\n\n\n\nArtTable Members – $15\n\n\n\nArtTable Guests – $20\n\n\n\n\nNot a member? Under the direction of the founders\, she oversees Glenstone’s 2\,000-piece contemporary art collection and art program. She serves on the museum’s Leadership Team\, driving overall strategy\, team management\, and culture. Cafritz is responsible for organizing exhibitions\, managing the loan program\, editing publications\, and supervising a team of around 15 curators\, conservators\, and collections specialists\, as well as working closely with artists on acquisitions and site-specific commissions. At Glenstone\, she has organized over a dozen major monographic exhibitions including recent presentations by Cady Noland\, Ellsworth Kelly\, Faith Ringgold\, Arthur Jafa\, Rirkrit Tiravanija\, Lygia Pape\, Martin Puryear\, and Michael Heizer. Prior to joining Glenstone\, she worked in external affairs at the National Museum of African Art\, Smithsonian Institution. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAnnie Farrar is the Director of Registration at Glenstone where she leads Registration and Preparation and serves on the Core Management Team. Her areas of expertise include working with all media of contemporary art\, monumental scale artworks\, international shipping and logistics\, courier travel\, sustainability\, and interest in fine art insurance. She has presented at professional organizations including the American Alliance of Museums\, the Association of Registrars and Collections Specialists\, and the Museum Computer Network. Prior to coming to Glenstone she held registration positions at the Smithsonian American Art Museum and Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden. She has a BFA in Painting from the Maryland Institute College of Art and an MA in Museum Studies & Collections Management from George Washington University.

Since its inception\, the gallery has developed a strong emphasis in research to bring to light artists overlooked due to age\, race\, gender\, or geography. SUMMARY:Los Angeles\, CA | Studio Visits with Julia Haft-Candell & Silvi Naçi at the Feminist Center for Creative Work
DESCRIPTION:Join ArtTable for two studio visits at the Feminist Center for Creative Work! \n\n\n\nJulia Haft-Candell remixes ancient techniques to write new narratives\, which in turn change structures that seem set in stone. Each arm of her practice—her artwork\, teaching\, and writing—offers alternatives to traditional models of categorization\, communication\, language\, and education. In 2019\, Haft-Candell founded The Infinite School\, a new framework for ceramic education\, which she runs out of her studio in Los Angeles. Haft-Candell has received grants and residencies from the Louis Comfort Tiffany Foundation\, New York\, NY; Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture\, Skowhegan\, ME; the Yaddo Corporation\, Saratoga Springs\, NY; and the California Community Foundation\, Los Angeles\, CA\, among other national and international organizations. Her work is in the collections of the Brooklyn Museum\, the Berkeley Art Museum and Pacific Film Archive\, the Houston Museum of Fine Arts\, among other institutions. She has exhibited at the Miller Institute of Contemporary Art in Pittsburgh\, the de Saisset Museum in Santa Clara\, Inman Gallery\, Houston\, The Craft Contemporary\, Los Angeles\, and Candice Madey\, New York. Haft-Candell’s work has been written about in numerous publications\, including The New York Times\, The Los Angeles Times\, Artforum\, and Art in America. \n\n\n\nSilvi Naçi is a queer Albanian educator\, artist\, researcher\, and writer working between Albania and Tongva and Chumash territory\, colonized as Los Angeles. Their praxis engages the image and its politics across photography\, performance\, moving-image\, text\, weaving\, drawing\, and installation. Their work examines how the marginalized body is affected by an oppressive state\, the subtle and violent ways that migration results from colonialism\, and how processes of decolonization affect and reshape a people\, the body\, language\, and possibilities of gender identity.  \n\n\n\nNaçi holds a dual BFA in Fine Arts & Graphic Design from Suffolk University and an MFA in Photography & Media from California Institute of the Arts. They have exhibited works at Manifesta 14 Prishtina\, XK; National Gallery of Art\, Tirana\, AL; The National Gallery of Kosovo\, XK; Grand Hotel\, Kosovo\, XK; Other Places Art Fair\, LA; Greater LA MFA Exhibition\, LA; and is a recipient of the Tim Disney Excellence in Storytelling Prize and the Felix Gonzalez-Torres Travel Grant. Their writing on art criticism has been published in Artsy\, East of Borneo\, Contemporary Art Review LA\, X-TRA\, Big Red & Shiny\, NKA Journal for Contemporary African Art\, and Hunter Fashion Magazine. Naçi has participated in residency at MASS MoCA (North Adams\, MA); Saas-Fee Summer Institute of Art (Berlin\, Germany); Elsewhere Museum and Residency (Greensboro\, NC); Évora NAU (Évora\, Portugal); Vermont Studio Center (VT); perfocraZe International Artist Residency (Kumasi\, Ghana)\, and the Feminist Center for Creative Work residency (Los Angeles\, CA). DESCRIPTION:This program will take an in-depth look at the full lifecycle of an artwork in transit\, from the moment it leaves a studio\, gallery\, or collection\, to its arrival\, installation\, and long-term placement and storage. This presentation can include real-world logistics case studies and showcase complex and high-value art movements\, including monumental public artworks\, fragile historical pieces\, and challenging site-specific installations. The purpose being to demonstrate creative problem-solving\, innovative packing solutions\, collaboration with art collectors and professionals to ensure works remain protected and accessible for the future. Some sub-topics the talk will focus on are:  \n\n\n\n•Provenance Research: Understanding the importance of historical ownership\, authenticity\, and cultural due diligence.  \n\n\n\n•Condition Reporting: How to create thorough\, objective documentation to safeguard the value and integrity of artworks.  \n\n\n\n•Inventory & Documentation Best Practices: Maintaining accurate\, accessible records for collection management and institutional accountability.  \n\n\n\n•Safe Handling & Transport Protocols: Standards for packing\, climate control\, insurance\, and coordination with specialized art shippers. \n\n\n\nThe zoom link will be provided upon registration.  \n\n\n\nYudelka Tavera is a Project Manager for the Contemporary Art and Museums Department at Gander and White Miami\, where she oversees complex domestic and international art movements\, high-value collections\, and large-scale museum installations. She has more than twenty years of experience in arts education\, curation\, collection management\, and fine art logistics\, and has worked as an art advisor and consultant for private collections in the United States and internationally. Her diverse experience in education\, curation\, advisory\, and logistics gives her a hands-on understanding of the full lifecycle of an artwork: from acquisition and transportation\, to installation and long-term maintenance and care. \n\n\n\nYudelka has previously held roles at Evelyn Aimis Fine Art and the Clark Art Institute and is recognized as a liaison among artists\, collectors\, conservators\, galleries\, auction houses\, and museums. She holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the State University of New York atAlbany\, completed coursework in fine art and conservation practice at Scuola Lorenzo de’ Medici in Florence\, and has earned graduate certificates in Art Management and Visual Communications from the Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts and Columbia University. She has over a decade of experience working with Korea’s National Assembly and Ministry of Culture\, Sports and Tourism\, where she contributed to policy development on digital innovation\, cultural infrastructure\, and artist welfare. \n\n\n\nAs a Co-founder and Chair of the AI Art Forum (AiAF)\, Mika leads international dialogue on AI ethics\, authorship\, and cultural trust in machine-mediated creativity. She also serves as Strategy & Partnership Director at Niio Art\, a global media art platform\, and  Co-founder  of Space Ba\, a curatorial studio advancing cross-sector collaborations that bridge urban regeneration\, media art\, and public engagement. \n\n\n\nHer initiatives include developing AI-driven systems for aesthetic classification and content governance through Realsnap\, and spearheading AMFM (Audio\, Music & Further More)\, a creative consortium promoting K-Audio and sound design as new pillars of the global creative economy. \n\n\n\nMika’s writing has appeared in Artsy\, ENCATC Magazine\, and Harvard Art Law Organization\, and she has presented her research at international venues such as UNESCO-affiliated forums\, Frieze Seoul\, and Cinema for Peace Foundation. DESCRIPTION:Join ArtTable for an artist talk and exhibition walkthrough with Joan Danziger! Joan has two concurrent exhibitions on view at the American University Museum at the Katzen Arts Center. \n\n\n\nSpanning 60 years of imaginative artistry\, The Magical World of Joan Danziger is the first career retrospective for Joan Danziger\, who is actively producing art at the age of 91. Danziger has been a working artist since the 1960s. The retrospective traces her evolution from a surrealist painter to a multimedia artist who transforms her creations into three-dimensional sculptures. Over the decades\, she evolved into a sculptor and glass artist who imbues her work with secret meanings from world religions\, history and mythology.A major milestone in her career was transitioning from an artist who worked on canvas to a three-dimensional artist. In 2008\, she added glass to her repertoire when she began her Beetles series. She enjoyed the results of working with glass so much that it led to two other series of glass sculptures of horses and her newest creation\, ravens. \n\n\n\nRavens: Spirits of the Sky will transform the American University Museum’s Long Gallery into an aviary. Featuring never-before-exhibited artworks\, the show is comprised entirely of 21 metal and glass raven sculptures inspired by the bird’s appearance in world mythology. Snow Crystal Raven references a Native American myth that expresses reverence and thankfulness to the Great Spirit. Smoky Raven demonstrates ‘lift’ in the bird’s preparation for flight. Colorful and predatory\, Amethyst Raven with Frog depicts a raven gripping a frog in its beak. The iridescent violets and yellow glass contrast to express the struggle of life and death. The ravens are captured in various poses\, including flight\, with three of the sculptures suspended from the ceiling. \n\n\n\nFor more than 60 years\, Washington\, D.C.-based artist Joan Danziger has beguiled audiences with her artworks born of mythology\, imagination and fantasy. As an artist\, she has metamorphosized from a painter to a sculptor to a glass artist. Danziger began her career as a surrealist painter and the dramatic hues in her paintings fed directly into painted sculptures — from vivid\, surreal flowers in vases resting on pigmented patterned\, handwoven carpets to large colorful figures of acrobats and musicians\, to brilliantly hued figures riding bicycles with parrots.Her public commissions can be seen along the Eastern Seaboard in Maryland\, New Jersey and Washington\, D.C. DESCRIPTION:You’re invited to a Boston\, MA MeetAT networking event on February 19\, graciously hosted by Krakow Witkin Gallery. Join us for an evening of light refreshments and engaging conversations with fellow ArtTable members and new connections. \n\n\n\nAbout Krakow Witkin Gallery:Krakow Witkin Gallery began exhibiting artists in 1959 and has been in its 10 Newbury Street Boston location since 1983. The gallery’s prior incarnations are Barbara Krakow Gallery\, Harcus Krakow Gallery\, Harcus Krakow Rosen Sonnabend\, Parker 470 and Carriage House Gallery.  \n\n\n\nKrakow Witkin Gallery has a commitment to an extensive\, yet focused group of artists known as part of the movements commonly called “Minimalism” and/or “conceptual art\,” along with younger artists who have come to renown since the 1960s with reductivist aesthetics. The gallery’s exhibition program runs three shows simultaneously with six to seven rotations over the course of the September – July season. During each cycle\, there is one larger show\, one smaller show and one show of a single work. This juxtaposition of types of exhibition gives viewers three different rigorous contexts with which to view work and consider various ideas of presentation. \n\n\n\nWe are available to assist the public in many ways – from discussing the art\, to issues of evaluation\, purchasing (the gallery has a deep inventory of art available for purchase from $1\,200 and beyond)\, framing\, shipping\, insuring\, installing\, conserving\, and even de-accessioning (selling). The gallery encourages and welcomes all viewers by demystifying contemporary art and providing an educationally-rich\, friendly\, open\, and welcoming environment in which to observe\, study\, and learn about the art and artists. \n\n\n\nFurthermore\, as long-standing members of the greater Boston community\, the gallery is devoted to participating in and supporting local communities.  We would be happy to suggest activities\, people\, and places to explore and/or connect with in the greater Boston area. \n\n\n\nOn view at Krakow Witkin Gallery: Krakow Witkin Gallery presents an exhibition of Sylvia Plimack Mangold’s works made between 1975 and 1986 that incorporate imagery of tape. From paintings of the depiction of bits of tape “adhering” imagery of paper to the surface of real paper or canvas\, to the representation of tape as a cropping and/or masking tool\, the current show gives viewers a deep look into how the artist progressed in her thinking and execution over the course of a decade. \n\n\n\nSylvia Plimack Mangold’s works from 1975 to 1986\, as exhibited in this show\, display the psychological charge of the exchange between artist and viewer\, human and nature\, image and object\, and process and result. DESCRIPTION:ArtTable invites you to join Cierra Britton for a curator-led walkthrough of her exhibition\, The Dance\, at Abigail Ogilvy Gallery in the Downtown Arts District\, LA. Food and drinks will be provided. \n\n\n\nCurated by Cierra Britton (Cierra Britton Gallery)\, The Dance is a meditation on the politics and poetics of bodily movement. Rooted in the visual language of classical forms and experimental gesture\, the exhibition explores the significance of femme movement as both ritual and resistance. From ballet to voguing\, to gestural abstract painting while listening to music\, movement has long transcended the stage and dancefloor—becoming a vital tool for self-expression\, community formation\, and the preservation of bodily autonomy. \n\n\n\nFounded in 2021\, the Cierra Britton Gallery is the first NYC-based gallery dedicated to representing BIPOC womxn artists whose work contributes to the contemporary cultural dialogue across the globe. DESCRIPTION:Join ArtTable at The Museum at FIT for a curator-led tour of Art X Fashion. \n\n\n\n“This exhibition will garner strong opinions and spark lively dialogue\, but whether you decide that fashion is art or not\, fashion’s strong and mutual relationship with fine art is undeniable.” – Elizabeth Way\, MFIT Curator of Costume and Accessories \n\n\n\nThe exhibition highlights how fashion is utilized as an expressive tool for artists\, such as Salvador Dalí\, Pablo Picasso\, and Sonia Delaunay\, alongside designers like Scott Barrie and Hussein Chalayan who root their concepts deeply in their art education\, while Fabrice Simon and Ralph Rucci are both painters as well as designers. Contemporary figures such as Cat Chow\, Mary Ping\, and Tavares Strachan exemplify the fluid\, modern boundary that exemplifies how these worlds can merge.  \n\n\n\nArt X Fashion equally surveys the ways in which fashion has been inspired by fine art. Through examples from designers such as Gianni Versace and Franco Moschino\, the exhibition spotlights ways that fashion has used odes to Pop Art classics as a means of commenting on consumer and celebrity culture. These replications of famous artworks on garments and accessories democratized these priceless masterpieces for a mass audience\, lending value\, recognition\, and even humor to fashion pieces\, but also adding cultural capital to the artworks. In some cases\, such as with Grace Wales Bonner\, the application of fine art to fashion extends the message of the original artist.  \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nElizabeth Way is curator of costume and accessories at The Museum at FIT\, where her recent exhibitions include Black Fashion Designers (2016)\, Fabric In Fashion (2018)\, Head to Toe (2021)\, Fresh\, Fly\, and Fabulous: Fifty Years of Hip Hop Style (2023)\, Food & Fashion (2023)\, and Africa’s Fashion Diaspora (2024). Marilyn Minter\, LGDR\, New York\, NY (2023); Marilyn Minter\, Lehmann Maupin\, Hong Kong\, China (2021); All Wet\, Montpellier Contemporary (Mo.Co)\, Montpellier\, France (2021); Smash\, MoCA Westport\, Westport\, CT (2021); Fierce Women\, The Cube\, Moss Arts Center\, Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University\, Blacksburg\, VA (2020); Nasty Woman\, SCAD Museum of Art\, Savannah GA (2020); among others. From 2015 through 2017\, her retrospective\, Marilyn Minter: Pretty/Dirty\, traveled to the Contemporary Arts Museum\, Houston (TX); the Museum of Contemporary Art\, Denver (CO); the Orange County Museum of Art\, Newport Beach (CA); and the Brooklyn Museum\, Brooklyn (NY). DESCRIPTION:Visit Edra Soto’s studio in the Belmont Cragin neighborhood of Chicago on February 28. \n\n\n\nEdra Soto (b. 1971) is a Puerto Rican-born artist\, educator\, and co-director of outdoor project space The Franklin. Soto instigates meaningful\, relevant\, and often difficult conversations surrounding socioeconomic and cultural oppression\, erasure of history\, and loss of cultural knowledge. Having grown up in Puerto Rico\, and now immersed in her Chicago community\, the artist has evolved to raise questions through her work about constructed social orders\, diasporic identity\, and the legacy of colonialism. \n\n\n\nSoto has presented recent solo exhibitions at Comfort Station\, Chicago\, IL (2024); Maine College of Art & Design\, ME (2024); Morgan Lehman Gallery\, NY (2024); Hyde Park Art Center\, Chicago\, IL (2023); Institute of Contemporary Art\, San Diego\, CA (2023); Abrons Art Center\, New York\, NY (2021); Museum of Contemporary Art\, Chicago\, IL (2018); Headlands Center for the Arts\, Sausalito\, CA (2017); The Arts Club of Chicago\, IL (2017).
