DESCRIPTION:In today’s increasingly polarized cultural and political landscape\, arts professionals are grappling with urgent questions: How do institutions remain true to their missions while navigating the risks of presenting complex or controversial narratives? What role does censorship play in shaping the stories we tell through exhibitions\, acquisitions\, publications\, and programming? \n\n\n\nArtTable’s 2025 Annual Leadership Series returns with a timely conversation on the evolving responsibilities of arts institutions in an era of heightened scrutiny and constrained freedoms. This year’s panel features acclaimed artist Marilyn Minter\, cultural leader and curator Sara Reisman\, and art lawyer Katherine Wilson-Milne\, in conversation with moderator Elizabeth Larison\, Arts and Culture Advocacy Program Director at National Coalition Against Censorship. SUMMARY:Miami\, FL | Curator-Led Tour of "Women Pulling At The Threads of Social Discourse: Don't Be Absurd" with Melanie Prapopoulos
DESCRIPTION:Join ArtTable at the CAMP Gallery for a guided tour of Women Pulling At The Threads of Social Discourse: Don’t Be Absurd followed by a networking reception! \n\n\n\nThe exhibition will explore absurdism\, referencing Franz Kafka\, Albert Camus\, Simone de Beauvoir\, Jose Saramago and/or Samuel Beckett. Artists will apply the ideas and concepts in these works to our modern world\, through which industry and politics\, is still and often dehumanized. Sub-topics include but are not limited to childhood in industrial societies\, sexuality\, gender\, women’s rights\, and education. We asked artists to create circular fiber works to symbolize the continuation of hope in our present experience as we strive to overcome a certain sense of nothingness.  \n\n\n\n\nRegistration: \n\n\n\n\nArtTable Members – $15\n\n\n\nArtTable Member Guest – $20\n\n\n\nGeneral Admission – $25

SUMMARY:Los Angeles\, CA | Curator-Led Tour of "Made in L.A. 2025" with Essence Harden
DESCRIPTION:Gather at the Hammer Museum for a Curator-Led Tour of Made in LA 2025 with Essence Harden! \n\n\n\nMade in L.A. 2025 is the seventh iteration of the Hammer’s signature biennial exhibition that showcases artists practicing throughout the greater Los Angeles area. The 28 participants in the exhibition present work not only made in the city but also grounded in its complex and unfolding terrain. Neither myth nor monolith\, Los Angeles is many things to many people\, and its dissonance is perhaps its most distinguishing feature. The works presented in this year’s biennial include film\, painting\, theater\, choreography\, photography\, sculpture\, sound\, and video. Attitude draws them together: Each engages with this city in ways alternately literal\, formal\, material\, and metaphoric. Conceived or made in Los Angeles\, they are of this city and nowhere else. \n\n\n\n\n\nProgram Admission: \n\n\n\n\nArtTable Members – $25\n\n\n\nArtTable Guests – $30\n\n\n\nGeneral Admission – $35\n\n\n\n\nNot a member? SUMMARY:New York\, NY | Private Collection Tour of the Deutsche Bank Art Collection
DESCRIPTION:Join ArtTable for a private collection tour at the Deutsche Bank Center. \n\n\n\nLocated in the center of one of the world’s most multi-cutural cities\, the Deutsche Bank Collection at Columbus Circle reflects New York’s globally renowned and vibrant contemporary art scene. Since it was established in the late 1970s\, the collection has focused on the medium of paper\, and there is a reason for this: the idea was that art should not be hung only on the executive floors and lobbies\, but in all of its offices and retail branches. Works on paper\, drawings\, collages\, and photographs serve this purpose well\, among other things because of their high artistic quality and their experimental spirit. With this strategy\, the Deutsche Bank Collection broke new ground at the time. \n\n\n\nHighlights of the Deutsche Bank Collection include Joan Mitchell\, Jennie C. Jones\, HelenFrankenthaler\, Wangechi Mutu\, Keith Haring\, Eva Hesse\, Carrie Mae Weems\, Amy Sillman\, and more. You can read more about the collection here. \n\n\n\n\n\nProgram Admission: This program is open to ArtTable Executive\, Circle\, Patron\, and Benefactor members until October 3. If space allows\, this program will open to other membership levels and the general public. \n\n\n\n\nArtTable Members – $45\n\n\n\nArtTable Guests – $55\n\n\n\n\nNot a member? SUMMARY:Washington\, DC | Curator-Led Tour of "Anonymous Was a Woman: Jae Ko | linn meyers | Joyce J. Scott | Renée Stout" with Dr. Vesela Sretenović
DESCRIPTION:Join ArtTable for a curator-led tour of Anonymous Was A Woman: Jae Ko | linn meyers | Joyce J. Scott | Renée Stout at The Kreeger Museum\, led by exhibition curators Dr. Vesela Sretenović. \n\n\n\nAnonymous Was a Woman: Jae Ko | linn meyers | Joyce J. Scott | Renée Stout\, dovetails with the recent group exhibition\, Anonymous Was a Woman: The First 25 Years organized by and presented at the New York University’s Grey Art Museum\, April 1-July 19\, 2025\, and co-curated by Nancy Princenthal and Vesela Sretenović. \n\n\n\nThe Grey exhibition celebrated the first quarter-century of the Anonymous Was a Woman (AWAW) grant program\, established in 1996 by visionary philanthropist and artist Susan Unterberg. The program is dedicated to supporting mid-career women artists living and working in the United States. Its name refers to a phrase in Virginia Woolf’s essay A Room of One’s Own\, which underscores the challenges that creative women have historically faced in a male-dominated society.  \n\n\n\nThe Kreeger Museum’s exhibition\, curated by Sretenović\, focuses exclusively on four AWAW recipients who reside and work in the Washington\, DC metropolitan area: Jae Ko (AWAW 2012)\, linn meyers (AWAW 2023)\, Joyce J. Scott (AWAW 1997)\, and Renée Stout (AWAW 1999). While the Grey exhibition featured works created around the time of each artist’s award\, The Kreeger Museum’s presentation spotlights the most recent work of its participating artists\, picking up where the Grey show left off in 2020. Moreover\, whereas the Grey offered a broader overview of artistic production by women-artists in the first 25 years of the award\, The Kreeger Museum aims to present a more focused\, in-depth look at the new works of Ko\, meyers\, Scott\, and Stout. \n\n\n\nIn this respect\, The Kreeger Museum’s exhibition not only celebrates artists based in the DMV area —aligning with the Museum’s mission—but also extends the reach of the AWAW program beyond New York City\, further disseminating its mission: to support and bring greater visibility to the creative output of women artists. \n\n\n\nProgram Admission: \n\n\n\n\nGeneral Admission – $30\n\n\n\nArtTable Members – $20\n\n\n\nArtTable Member Guests – $25\n\n\n\n\n\nAll registrants for this event will be provided with a 20% discount on ArtTable’s limited edition scarf celebrating 25 Years of Anonymous Was a Woman\, created in 2021 in conjunction with ArtTable’s 45 year anniversary and the year Susan Unterberg received the Distinguished Service to the Visual Arts Award. Made of 100% silk habotai\, only a handful of scarves remain in our inventory! \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nNot a member? Most recently (2009-23) she served as Director of Contemporary Art Initiatives and Academic Affairs at The Phillips Collection in Washington DC. During her tenure\, she had organized Intersections\, a series of ongoing contemporary art projects\, as well as monographic exhibitions of prominent artists including Robert Ryman\, Ellsworth Kelly\, Antony Gormley\, and the first museum retrospective of Cuban artist Zilia Sanchez. Additionally\, she oversaw academic partnership initiatives with the University of Maryland (UMD) and the University of Virginia (UVA). Prior to The Phillips\, Sretenović worked at Brown University\, the University at Buffalo SUNY\, and the Brooklyn Museum of Art. She is a frequent visiting faculty\, teaching modern and contemporary art history and theory\, and works as an independent curator. Sretenović holds a BA in Art History from University of Belgrade\, Former Yugoslavia\, an MA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago\, and a PhD in Humanities from Syracuse University. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nImage credits:Pictured (left to right): Detail\, linn meyers\, The Moon is a Thief\, 2025\, acrylic ink and acrylic gouache on linen. SUMMARY:Los Angeles\, CA | MeetAT at Baert Gallery
DESCRIPTION:Cheung Tsz Hin\, homes of void\, 2025. Oil on canvas. 78 3/4 x 157 1/2 in (200 x 400 cm)Courtesy of the artist and Baert Gallery. \n\n\n\nYou’re invited to a Los Angeles\, CA MeetAT networking event on November 13\, graciously hosted by Baert Gallery. Join us for an evening of light refreshments and engaging conversations with fellow ArtTable members and new connections. \n\n\n\nAbout Baert Gallery:Baert Gallery\, founded in 2016 by Christian Baert\, maintains a distinct focus on bridging the legacies and artistic sensibilities of Europe and Los Angeles. Working with a roster of emerging artists\, the gallery aims to provide a platform for complex\, intellectually rigorous\, and formally challenging practices at its space in Downtown Los Angeles. The gallery is committed to providing studio and production support to its artists in order to foster their innovative ideas and creativity. In order to reach a wider audience\, Baert Gallery also supports artist publications and regular live performances by multidisciplinary artists in the gallery space. In 2020\, the gallery moved to its current location in the lower Arts District in Downtown Los Angeles. The 1\,500 sq-ft (140 sq-m) exhibition space\, located in a historic warehouse\, provides an ideal backdrop to present artworks across media\, including installation\, sculpture\, painting\, video\, and performance. \n\n\n\nAbout the ArtistCheung Tsz Hin’s compositions explore the mixed emotions that arise from the artist’s memories and associations with people and events throughout his lifetime. Everyday objects\, fleeting scenes\, and encounters provide spaces to observe the ever-changing landscape of the mind. Through painting\, Cheung’s emotional starting points undergo transformations\, reconstructions\, and even inversions until the layers of meaning abstract themselves both conceptually and visually. Painting becomes an act of digestion and reflection. \n\n\n\nCheung Tsz Hin (b.1987\, Hong Kong) obtained his Bachelor of Integrated BBA (minor in Fine Arts) from the Chinese University of Hong Kong in 2010\, and a Master of Fine Arts in Taiwan in 2014. Cheung has taken part in an artist in residency programme held by Listhus SES in Iceland in 2018. His works have been featured in solo and group exhibitions in Hong Kong\, Taiwan and Iceland\, including Phantasmagoria\, LBF Contemporary\, London (2024); moments in layered motion\, Contemporary by Angela Li\, Hong Kong (2024); shivering glow\, I shiver and glow\, Contemporary by Angela Li\, Hong Kong (2023); confluence of voice\, Hong Kong Visual Arts Centre (2023); spinelessly Planting\, Contemporary by Angela Li\, Hong Kong (2022); the garden I still vaguely remember\, Contemporary by Angela Li\, Hong Kong (2021); Ólafsfjörður: Phase 2\, Sansiao Gallery\, Hong Kong (2019); Stundum\, Listhus Artspace\, Ólafsfjörður\, Iceland (2018); No Neverland\, Hong Kong Visual Arts Centre\, Hong Kong (2017); Art as Social Interaction—Hong Kong/ Taiwan Exchange\, The Pier-2 Art Center\, B7 Warehouse\, Taiwan (2015). \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nAre you considering joining ArtTable and want to know more about who we are and what we do? SUMMARY:Baltimore\, MD | Curator-Led Tour of "Amy Sherald: American Sublime" with Asma Naeem
DESCRIPTION:Join ArtTable for a curator-led tour of Amy Sherald: American Sublime at the Baltimore Museum of Art!  \n\n\n\nThe exhibition tells the story of Sherald’s vision and practice through approximately 40 paintings created from 2007 to the present—from her early\, rarely seen works to her iconic\, larger-than-life portraits of Black Americans in everyday moments. \n\n\n\nAmerican Sublime in Baltimore is more than an exhibition—it’s an occasion of civic pride and cultural affirmation. Sherald graduated from the Maryland Institute College of Art\, studying under the famed painter Grace Hartigan\, and worked in Baltimore during her formative years. \n\n\n\nAsma Naeem (she/her) was appointed the Dorothy Wagner Wallis Director at the Baltimore Museum of Art (BMA) in January 2023. She is the eleventh director of the 110-year-old museum and also the first person of color and the first person raised in Baltimore to lead the organization. \n\n\n\nNaeem is widely recognized for her advocacy of women and underrecognized artists\, for her scholarship in contemporary and American art\, and for her vision and work in collections diversification. She had previously served as the BMA’s Interim Co-Director since June 2022\, and as the Museum’s Eddie C. and C. Sylvia Brown Chief Curator since 2018\, organizing exhibitions on the work of such artists as Candice Breitz\, Isaac Julien\, Salman Toor\, and Valerie Maynard. Her most recent exhibition\, The Culture: Hip Hop and Contemporary Art in the 21st Century\, still on tour\, explored the political\, cultural\, and aesthetic attributes that have made hip hop a global phenomenon and established it as the artistic canon of our time. \n\n\n\nProgram Admission: \n\n\n\n\nGeneral Admission – $35\n\n\n\nArtTable Members – $25\n\n\n\nArtTable Member Guests – $30\n\n\n\n\nNot a member? SUMMARY:Dallas\, TX | After Hours Collections Storage Tour & Discussion with Anne Lenhart at the Meadows Museum
DESCRIPTION:We are excited to present an after hours collection storage tour and discussion at the Meadows Museum! Attendees will see and learn about the collections at the Meadow’s Museum\, as well as hear how the Museum functions as a small University Art Museum that is funded by a foundation. \n\n\n\nThe core of the Meadows Museum’s collection was assembled by its founder\, Algur H. Meadows. Mr. Meadows developed an interest in art over the course of several visits to Spain in the 1950s\, when he spent long afternoons at the great Museo Nacional del Prado in Madrid. Mr. Meadows subsequently began to collect Spanish art and in 1962\, after the passing of his wife\, Virginia\, he donated his original acquisitions as well as funds for a museum to house them at Southern Methodist University. Until his death in 1978\, Mr. Meadows\, with the careful guidance of founding director William B. Jordan\, actively promoted the development of the Spanish art collection\, which has grown to be one of the finest outside Spain. Ranging from early Renaissance examples to modern works by Pablo Picasso\, Joan Miró\, and Juan Gris\, the majority of works of art in the collection were created during the Spanish Golden Age by Baroque artists such as Diego Velázquez\, Bartolomé Esteban Murillo\, and Jusepe de Ribera \n\n\n\nThis program will be lead by Anne Lenhart\, Director of Collections and Exhibitions at the Meadows Museum. \n\n\n\nParking is available on site. \n\n\n\n\n\nProgram Admission: \n\n\n\n\nGeneral Admission – $25\n\n\n\nArtTable Members – $15\n\n\n\nArtTable Guests – $20\n\n\n\n\nNot a member?
