DESCRIPTION:Join ArtTable for a Behind-the-Scenes Tour of LA Art Labs with Kamila M. Korbela. \n\n\n\nThe studio employs scientific techniques and instrumentation in the planning and implementation of museum-quality conservation treatments\, and carries out research into the methods and materials used by artists. It enshrines the highest attainable standard in compliance with the American Institute of Conservation code of ethics and guidelines for practice.   \n\n\n\nStaff members and collaborators are long-standing members of the conservation community and draw from national and international collaborations with conservators\, curators\, and scientists in museums\, conservation laboratories\, and universities. \n\n\n\nKamila M. Korbela is an award-winning and accredited German Art Conservator for Paintings and Sculptures in Los Angeles with 15 years of experience in the field of cultural heritage conservation. She successfully completed graduate studies in Art Conservation and held positions at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art\, the Balboa Art Conservation Center\, the National Gallery of Denmark and the German government to name a few. Kamila published her work and research in national and international peer-reviewed journals\, conference proceedings\, and books. \n\n\n\nPlease note\, photography and cell phone use are not permitted at this program. The collection features prominent Chicano artists such as Carlos Almaraz\, Roberto Gil de Montes\, Frank Romero\, Patssi Valdez\, John Valadez\, Laura Aguilar\, and César Martínez. It also includes Mexican masters like Rufino Tamayo\, Raúl Anguiano\, Graciela Iturbide\, and José Chávez Morado\, as well as contemporary artists such as Betsabeé Romero\, Minerva Cuevas\, and Gabriel Orozco. Additionally\, Latin American\, Asian American\, and Black artists are incorporated to enrich the visual dialogue on identity\, immigration\, social justice\, and other shared experiences and cultures.
