DESCRIPTION:3pm PT / 4pm MT / 5pm CT / 6pm ET\n\n\n\nPlease join us for a virtual Artist Conversation with Ambrose Murray and New York-based freelance writer and artist\, Isis Davis-Marks.\n\n\nAmbrose Rhapsody Murray was born in September in Jacksonville\, Florida\, child of a creative writer and bluegrass musician. Raised up in the mountains of Western North Carolina\, you may have found a young Ambrose in the forest assembling fairy houses out of bark and moss. Through sewing\, painting\, collage and material experimentation\, making home for Spirit and the mystical to reside has become the grounding force in their work. Ambrose was transformed by Black Studies while at Yale College where they received their BA. Dedicated to the stories\, lives and bodies of Black girls\, women and queer folks\, their work and practice are rooted in ethea of care\, reverence\, intimacy\, time-travel\, healing\, grief and attending to the stories of the dead. \nIn the Press: Galerie Magazine – Next Big Things: Ambrose Rhapsody MurrayWhitewall – Ambrose Murray: Veiling/Unveiling the Ancestral RealmCultured – Artist Ambrose Murray Is Working to Make Viewers Feel Seen \nIsis Davis-Marks is a freelance writer and artist based in New York City. Her work has appeared in the Nation\, Artsy\, Smithsonian Magazine\, Philips Auctions\, Cultured Magazine\, the Columbia Journal\, and elsewhere.
