DESCRIPTION:Don’t miss this unique opportunity to get a behind-the-scenes look at the inner workings of the Whitney’s Conservation Department with Executive Coordinator Heather Cox\, and Curatorial Fellow and Supervisor of the Works on Paper Study Center\, Scout Hutchinson. We will walk through the studios\, see artwork in the process of being treated\, discuss the role of conservation at the Whitney\, and end with a tour of the Works of Art on Paper Study Center. Afterwards\, you are welcome to visit the exhibition floors. \n\n\n\nFounded in 2001\, the Whitney’s conservation department engages in the preservation and long-term care of works of art in the Museum’s collection. Designed with a multi-faceted approach to conservation\, the department embraces innovative approaches to the treatment and technical study of works of contemporary and modern art—including historical and scientific research\, technical examination\, and artist interviews. \n\n\n\nAdmission: \n\n\n\n\nArtTable Members – $10\n\n\n\nMember Guests – $20\n\n\n\nPublic – $25\n\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nNot a member?
