ArtTable’s Impact Initiatives invest in the future of the visual arts by creating pathways for professional growth, leadership development, and meaningful connection across the field. Rooted in the vision of ArtTable founder Lila Harnett, these programs support emerging and established arts professionals while strengthening the broader arts ecosystem.

Through fellowships, mentorship, research, and community engagement, ArtTable expands access to opportunities, fosters collaboration, and helps cultivate the next generation of leaders in the visual arts.

Fellowship Program

ArtTable’s Fellowship Program provides hands-on professional experience for emerging arts leaders from historically underrepresented backgrounds.

Hosted by leading museums and cultural organizations across the country, fellows gain meaningful exposure to the field while working alongside experienced professionals. Each fellow is also paired with an ArtTable member mentor who provides guidance, career insight, and professional support.

Since its launch, the program has supported hundreds of early-career professionals and strengthened pathways into leadership roles across the arts.

Table for Two: ArtTable Mentorship Program

Table for Two is ArtTable’s membership-wide mentorship initiative connecting members across generations, disciplines, and regions of the visual arts field.

Through curated one-on-one mentorship matches, the program fosters meaningful dialogue, professional guidance, and lasting connections within the ArtTable community. Emerging professionals gain insight and support as they navigate the field, while established leaders have the opportunity to share expertise and invest in the next generation of arts professionals.

CareerRoundTable

ArtTable’s CareerRoundTable is one of the organization’s longest-running and most impactful mentoring programs.

Each year, students and emerging professionals from across the country engage directly with established arts leaders through small-group conversations and facilitated discussions. Participants gain practical career advice, insights into different professional paths in the arts, and valuable opportunities to expand their networks.

To date, the program has supported thousands of students and early-career professionals exploring careers in the visual arts.

Pay Equity

ArtTable’s Pay Equity Initiative addresses systemic inequities in arts compensation through research, data collection, and public dialogue.

Through surveys, workshops, and reports, the initiative examines gender-based disparities in the visual arts workforce and creates opportunities for collective learning and advocacy. By bringing together researchers, arts professionals, and institutional leaders, ArtTable aims to illuminate inequities and promote more equitable workplace practices across the field.

Affiliate Level Membership

To expand access to the ArtTable community, the organization offers an Affiliate Membership level designed for early-career professionals.

This reduced-cost membership provides emerging leaders with opportunities to participate in ArtTable programs, build professional networks, and access mentorship and career development resources. Through support from the Impact Initiatives Fund, ArtTable helps ensure that financial barriers do not prevent talented individuals from joining and benefiting from the community.
