We’re so happy to welcome Linda Selvin, the Executive Director of the Appraisers Association of America, to our Virtual Lunch & Learn Series! will discuss her journey to becoming the Executive Director of Appraisers Association of America, and share her experience working at the Association over the past decade. From gender equity in the industry/workplace, the value of professional associations, the importance of establishing industry-wide ethics and professional standards for appraisal practices, to the fluctuating values of art and property, she’ll be touching upon the changes she has witnessed throughout her career and sharing her vision of the future of the industry. There will be an open discussion after the interview, giving ArtTable members the opportunity to engage in dialogue and ask questions. Selvin will be in conversation with Kerry Gaertner Gerbracht. Linda Selvin is the Executive Director of the Appraisers Association of America. Selvin began her career as the Gallery Manager of the Newhouse Center for Contemporary Art, and went on to become the Program Officer at the Pollock-Krasner Foundation, distributing funds internationally to artists of both merit and need. For 10 years, she served as the Executive Director of the New York Branch of the International Dyslexia Association. She is currently the Secretary of The Appraisal Foundation’s Advisory Council (TAFAC) based in Washington D.C. and a member of their Personal Property Issues Committee. Selvin is an Adjunct Instructor at New York University, Steinhardt School in the Visual Arts Administration graduate program and is a guest lecturer both nationally and internationally. She is a member of ArtTable and the Professional Advisors to the International Art Market (PAIAM).
