New York, NY | Art Week Gallery Walk: Chelsea

November 12 | 9:30 am – 11:45 am

Interior view of Gallery Lelong

We are partnering with Art Week to present a gallery walk in Chelsea, NYC. Attendees will visit Galerie Lelong, Lehmann Maupin, and DC Moore. We will hear from the gallery director at each location, and learn more about each current exhibition.

Since 1991, Galerie Lelong, New York, has championed a diverse roster of contemporary artists from throughout the world. Led by Mary Sabbatino, Vice President and Partner, the gallery has pioneered the community both in presenting a balanced roster of male and female artists, and artists from the Global South. The gallery’s programming is noted for its political acuity and museum-quality exhibitions that include contemporary sculpture and installations, as well as its work with artists to develop large-scale public art commissions beyond the gallery’s walls. In tandem with the gallery’s artists who present works that examine the human condition and collective consciousness, Galerie Lelong demonstrates its commitment to social justice and good citizenship through charitable initiatives and collaborations. At Galerie Lelong, we will hear from Director Katherine Chan. Light refreshments will be provided.

Rachel Lehmann and David Maupin co-founded Lehmann Maupin in 1996 in New York. Since inception, Lehmann Maupin has served as a leading contemporary art gallery with locations in the U.S., Europe, and Asia. For over 25 years, Lehmann Maupin has been instrumental in introducing international artists in new geographies and building long-lasting curatorial relationships. Known for championing diverse voices, the gallery’s program proudly features artists whose work challenges notions of identity and shapes international culture. Today, the gallery has permanent locations in New York, Seoul, and London, as well as team members based in Hong Kong, Shanghai, Singapore, and Palm Beach. In recent years, given growing opportunities in new markets, the gallery has opened seasonal spaces in Aspen, Palm Beach, Taipei, and Beijing. At Lehmann Maupin, we will hear from Senior Director Alexis Rose.

Founded in 1995, DC Moore Gallery represents nationally and internationally known contemporary artists whose diverse practices include painting, drawing, photography, sculpture, and installation, as well as important estates and foundations including those of Romare Bearden, Charles Burchfield, Paul Cadmus, Robert de Niro, Sr., David C. Driskell, Janet Fish, Jacob Lawrence, George Tooker, Jane Wilson, and George Woodman. The gallery is primary representative to Eric Aho, JoAnne Carson, Amy Cutler, Theresa Daddezio, Mary Frank, Chie Fueki, Jim Gaylord, Mark Innerst, Valerie Jaudon, Joyce Kozloff, Robert Kushner, Whitfield Lovell, Joshua Marsh, Duane Michals, Claire Sherman, Katia Santibañez, Barbara Takenaga, Darren Waterston, and Alexi Worth. The gallery specializes in 20th-century American painting, sculpture, and works on paper, including Modernism, Magic Realism, African American, Social Realism, and Abstraction Expressionism. In recent years the gallery’s program has expanded to include photography. At DC Moore, we will hear from Director Kate Larkin.
