Marly Hammer
Managing Director, Tom Sachs Studio
Marly Hammer is a curator, advisor, and cultural strategist with over 20 years of experience in the art world. She currently serves as Managing Director of Tom Sachs Studio, where she oversees operations and strategic direction.
From 2018 to 2025, Marly was Co-Founder and Co-Curator of Work in Progress Ventures, a woman-owned art advisory dedicated to disrupting the cultural status quo through ambitious, artist-centered programming and unconventional exhibition models.
Prior to joining Tom Sachs Studio in 2025, Marly was Chief of Staff and Head of Programming at Lévy Gorvy Dayan, where she oversaw all creative aspects of the gallery, its staff, and global program. Before that, she served as Global Exhibitions Director at Pace Gallery, managing the international exhibitions and art fair schedule, with a focus on bridging sales and operations through strong project management and innovative problem solving. She has also held roles within the corporate art collections at UBS and Neuberger Berman.
Her work centers on creating dynamic platforms for artists and rethinking how and where art is experienced. This summer, Marly, alongside Jasper Richmus, will launch The Mall as part of Upstate Art Weekend programming at the Hudson Valley Mall. Spanning the promenade and three vacant storefronts, the project reimagines empty retail spaces as living, breathing cultural environments—temporary homes for exhibitions, curators, pop-ups, fashion collectives, and artists working across disciplines.
Marly earned her B.A. in Art History from Lafayette College and an M.A. in Exhibitions and Museum Studies from the San Francisco Art Institute.
