Washington, DC | Curator-Led Tour of “Esther Bubley: Photographing the Homefront” with Sarah Leavitt
Lillian and Albert Small Capital Jewish Museum 575 3rd Street, NW, Washington, DC, Washington, DCEsther Bubley (1921-1998), the daughter of Jewish immigrants, was a documentary photographer who worked for the Office of War Information during WWII. While in the capital, she photographed Wilson (now Jackson-Reed) High School students and followed uniformed soldiers throughout the city—to the Loew’s Theater, Glen Echo amusement park, and Dissin’s Jewish boarding house, where her sister lived. Bubley’s evocative black-and-white photographs show us a bustling city welcoming thousands of new residents experiencing urban life. This exhibition pairs dramatic photography with artifacts from the Museum collection that help illustrate this glimpse into the capital city at a critical time in our nation’s history.

New Canaan, CT New Canaan, ConnecticutJoin ArtTable for a day trip to New Canaan Connecticut. Our day begins with a Executive Director & Curator-Led Tour of America Abroad: Art, Architecture, and Diplomacy at the Onera Foundation. Presented on the occasion of the 250th anniversary of the United States and FAPE’s 40th year of operations, the exhibition offers rare public access to artworks typically seen only at US embassies—spaces not generally open to the public—and explores how art and architecture have shaped the United States’ diplomatic presence abroad from the Cold War to today. In the afternoon, we will visit The Glass House and Galleries for a two hour tour. The tour tour includes access to 5 structures – the Glass House, Brick House, Painting Gallery, Sculpture Gallery, and Da Monsta.

Brooklyn, NY | Annual Leadership Series | Studio Visit with Jenny Holzer
Dumbo Full Address Provided Upon Registration, Dumbo, BrooklynFor more than forty-five years, Jenny Holzer has presented her astringent ideas, arguments, and sorrows in public places and international exhibitions, including Times Square, the Venice Biennale, the Guggenheim Museums in New York and Bilbao, and the Louvre Abu Dhabi. Her medium, whether a T-shirt, plaque, or electronic sign, is writing, and the public dimension is integral to her work. Starting in the 1970s with her New York City street posters and continuing through her recent light projections on landscape and architecture, her practice has rivaled ignorance and violence with humor, kindness, and courage. Holzer received the Leone d’Oro at the Venice Biennale in 1990, the World Economic Forum’s Crystal Award in 1996, the rank of officier in France’s Ordre des Arts et des Lettres in 2016, the US State Department’s International Medal of Arts in 2017, and Time magazine’s Time 100 Award in 2024. She holds honorary degrees from Williams College, the Rhode Island School of Design, the New School, and Smith College. She lives and works in New York.
